Let’s get bookish.

Hey guys!

I know that this blog post is about books and not fashion (or makeup) but I decided to do something different. You may or may not know this, but I LOVE reading!

So I thought let’s talk about some of the books that I’ve enjoyed.

‘Paper Towns’ (John Green)

This is one of my favourite books. It’s about a boy named Quentin and a girl named Margo, the most popular girl in school. They live across the street from each other and one day Margo takes Quentin on a journey through the neighbourhood pranking friends that betrayed Margo. After that night Margo goes missing, and Quentin and his friends decide find her. This book is REALLY funny and exciting I couldn’t put it down at all! If you like a bit of mystery, give this a go!

‘Harry Potter’ (J.K. Rowling)

The Harry Potter books are my favourite books of ALL. TIME.

I wont go into much detail on what they are about, because I’m sure you basically know what Harry Potter is about… But I will quickly tell you just a little:

  •  Seven novels about the life of a wizard (Harry Potter) and his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
  • They’re students of Hogwarts, a School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
  • The seven novels are based around Harry’s struggles against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who wishes to take control.

If you like magic, then go and grab a copy – or seven!

‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ (Lemony Snicket)

I have really enjoyed reading these thirteen novels. They are basically about three children (Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire) whose parents have just died in a horrible fire. The children are placed in the custody of Count Olaf, a crazed man who wishes to steal their inheritance. The series continues, showing how the children try to escape from Olaf. If you like a bit of mystery then this the perfect series for you. (Warning though: they are quite sad. So don’t read if you don’t like sadness/having a cry…)

‘All the Bright Places’ (Jennifer Niven)

This is a FANTASTIC book! (Even though it is a reeeally sad.) It’s about a boy (Finch – he is suicidal) and a girl (Violet). They partner up to do a school project. While on the project, Violet learns that Finch wants to end his life – and she tries to help him. It sounds really depressing but I promise you it’s a really interesting read!

‘Anna and the French Kiss’ (Stephanie Perkins)

If you like a little bit of romance then go check this book out because it’s really good and all about romance! A girl moves to Paris to go to a boarding school and you’ve probably already guessed it – yes! She meets a guy!! … Even if this IS your typical romance story, you should definitely give it a go – it’s very enjoyable.

Those were just some of the books that I’ve enjoyed reading. If you think you liked the sound of one of one/any of the names books, then I suggest you go and check them out: my all time favourite bookshop is Where The Wild Things Are. If you live near Brisbane, take a drive/train/bus.

Thanks for visiting!  😉
